Seeking Health’s Histamine Block contains a patented enzyme called DAO2™ . The enzyme produces 10,000 HDU of diamine oxidase (DAO), the enzyme involved in regulating the amount of histamine in the body. Histamine is a biogenic amine that occurs naturally in both plant and animal products. The substance is involved in the establishment of the normal inflammatory response of the human body at the cue of specific triggers. The sensitivity to histamine differs per person. DAO has been thoroughly tested and is not immediately absorbed when ingested, but becomes active only inside the digestive tract. Vitamin C is also added to this supplement, a vitamin with which the enzyme DAO works closely together.

Histamine & DAO

Histamine is naturally found in both plant and animal products . The substance is also synthesized on a small scale by the bacteria in our body and is involved in the immune system, the gastrointestinal tract and the incentive transfer into the brains. Once formed, it can be stored in mast cells or white blood cells and is released during certain immune responses, such as in the case of allergies, inflammation or drug use. In some cases the breakdown of and exposure to histamine is not balanced, including when there is a histamine intolerance, where the body itself produces too much histamine, or when someone eats too much histamine-rich food. The breakdown of histamine in the body takes place via the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO) in cooperation with vitamin C, the vitamin that supports our immune system and contributes to energy metabolism.

Avoid if allergic to pork or any other ingredient. Histamine Block is NOT EFFECTIVE for symptoms of immune-related food allergies, such as peanuts, shellfish, etc., or for gluten intolerance due to sensitivity or celiac disease. DAO is not absorbed and does not have systemic activity. Histamine Block does not manage or address antibody-related or IgE-related food allergies.

Evolution of epigenetics
